Solid wood kitchens in oak or painted, with a contemporary or traditional look

Dawn Elizabeth solid wood kitchens

Dawn Elizabeth solid wood kitchens are hand-built by The Saturday Shop. The furniture is made to your specifications in our Warminster workshop, using traditional methods and traditional joints. All of our kitchens are solid wood throughout – no MDF, plywood or veneers.

The woods we use

bulletThe frames, doors and drawer fronts of our kitchens are made from Tulipwood or American Lime, both hardwoods that are stable and good for painting (avoiding problems with knot bleeding on painted kitchens).

bulletSolid Pine is used for the internal frame/carcass of the kitchen.

bulletWe also make solid Oak kitchens, these are either finished with a two-pack lacquer or oiled, to enhance the beauty of the natural wood, see an example here.

More details of the woods can be found here.

Kitchens built with sustainable woods

Whenever possible the timber we use to build our kitchens is sourced from sustainable managed forests certified by the PEFC or the FSC.

Traditionally built

For longevity and stability traditional joints and methods are used to hand build your solid wood kitchen and these are used with modern fixings for ease and style. Find out more about our hand-built kitchens here.

With your choice of finish

Our solid wood kitchens can be painted to any colour of your choice, or waxed or lacquered to show the natural beauty of the wood. Find out more about our painted kitchens here.
